Red Sea States Prepare MoU on Agreement to Check, Inspect Ships at their Ports

Awwal 16, 1432 H/April 20, 2011, SPA -- The Regional Organization for the Conservation of the Environment of the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden (PERSGA), held a meeting here today to draft the final formula of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the right of the port authorities of the PERSGA member states to check and inspect ships in the region.
Representatives of ministries of environment and maritime authorities in the member states, Jordan, Djibouti, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Egypt and Yemen, participated in the meeting.
