Awwal 12, 1432, April 16, 2011, SPA -- A suicide attacker detonated his explosive vest in an army base in eastern Afghanistan on Saturday, killing at least four soldiers, officials said. "There has been an explosion in the army base that killed four soldiers and injured eight others," said Mohammed Noman Atifi, army spokesman for eastern Afghanistan. A Defence Ministry official said it was a suicide attack at the base under construction in the eastern province of Laghman. "A suicide bomber wearing an Afghan military uniform attacked the army base on Saturday morning," Dawlat Waziri, deputy spokesman for the Defence Ministry was quoted as saying by DPA.
