Awwal 10, 1432 / April 14, 2011, SPA -- Displaying its civilizational, cultural, technological, industrial and economical miracles, the Land of Bright Sun really shined as this year's official guest of honor of the 26th National Festival for Heritage and Culture in Al-Janadriyah, on the northern outskirts of the Saudi capital city of Riyadh. The pavilion of Japan displays the far eastern country's culture and civilization for Janadriyah Festival's visitors through four main areas including legacy, contemporary life, values and technology, organizers said. However, the Japanese organizers suggest that other auxiliary activities might help introduce their culture to the non-Japanese public. This mechanism comes through theater. Moreover, a variety of Japanese traditional sports are displayed at the pavilion, including the somo, judo, Kendo, karate, fencing and pujinkan. Part of the pavilion exhibits the magnificent arts of Japanese calligraphy, manuscripts, drawing and writing which goes back in history for 300 b.c. Ways of simplicity of Japanese in eating, drinking and sleeping were also on display. Some inventions, including a device to get rid of mosquito bites found their way to Janadriyah. The day-to-day life of a Japanese was illustrated through simple ways in the event.
