Awwal 09, 1432 / April 13, 2011, SPA -- A forest fire broke out Tuesday noon in north China's Hebei Province, with over 7,000 mu (466.66 hectares) of forest burnt as of Wednesday noon, local authorities said. The fire broke out at the border area of Qinhuangdao City's Funing County and Qinglong County, Xinhua quoted a spokesman with Funing County government as saying. More than 7,550 police, soldiers, officials and fire fighters had been mobilized to battle the blaze. Three helicopters were also used to dump water on the fire. Relocation of nearby villagers is underway.
