Awwal 07, 1432, April 11, 2011, SPA -- President Asif Ali Zardari has affirmed that the ongoing war in Afghanistan adversely affects the stability and prosperity of Pakistan. In a latest interview published by a British newspaper, Zardari said that he considered the war in Afghanistan as the biggest obstacle to the establishment of the democratic system and the security and economic stability in Pakistan. Television Channels in the Muslim Asian country quoted President Zardari as saying today that Pakistan "is engaged in addressing the security challenges faced by Afghanistan and cannot focus its attention to economic development and strengthening of its democratic institutions." He deplored the slow pace and urged for finding a quick solution to the Afghan crisis and the urgent termination of this (prolonged) war, which has become a real source of concern for Pakistan.
