Awwal 04, 1432 H / April 08, 2011, SPA -- Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Abu Bakr Ezzat Begovic received here today Saudi Minister of Finance Dr. Ibrahim Al-Assaf, currently on a visit to attend the 2nd International Conference for Investment, organized by the Jeddah-based Islamic Development Bank in collaboration with the government of Bosnia and Herzegovina. A number of Saudi businessmen attended the meeting. During the audience, Begovic lauded the excellent relations binding Saudi Arabia and Bosnia, confirming his interest in further developing and expanding them, particularly in the economic and investment fields. Addressing the conference earlier today, Al-Assaf praised the excellent relations between the two countries, confirming that the two parties are in the process of concluding two agreements: one to avoid double taxation and the second to protect and develop investments and calling on the private sectors in two countries to probe investment opportunities between the two countries. On the sidelines of the conference, a loan agreement worth $25 million offered by the Saudi Development Fund to the Ministry of Finance and Treasury of Bosnia and Herzegovina to finance a highway in Bosnia and Herzegovina was signed.
