Awwal 02, 1432, April 06, 2011, SPA -- The operator of the stricken Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant said Wednesday that the leaking of radioactive water from the damaged plant has been stopped, Kyodo News reported. Tokyo Electric Power Co said that chemicals injected into a water-filled pit had stopped the seepage of contaminated water into the Pacific Ocean. The plant has been in constant crisis to control overheating and releases of radioactive particles since the March 11 earthquake and tsunami damaged the station and devastated Japan's north-eastern coast.
