Nasdaq OMX Group announced Tuesday it will rebalance its Nasdaq-100 index, reducing computer-giant Apple's weight by almost 40 percent, to 12.3 percent from 20.5 percent. The change will take effect on May 2, when more weight will placed on Google, Intel, Microsoft, and Oracle.
