Awwal 01, 1432 H/April 05, 2011, SPA -- Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General received at Al-Aziziyah palace here today Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). During the audience, the Crown Prince congratulated Dr. Al-Zayani for the trust accorded to him by the GCC leaders appointing him as GCC Secretary General. The Crown Prince also expressed best wishes and success for the new GCC Secretary General to achieve integration among the GCC member countries in various fields under the wise leadership of its leaders and to fulfill the hopes and aspirations of its citizens. For his part, Dr. Al-Zayani expressed sincere appreciation of and thanks to the leaders of the GCC for appointing him as GCC Secretary General, stressing that he would do what he could with his colleagues in the Secretariat to contribute to strengthening the Gulf joint action. He also lauded the vital role being played by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and the Crown Prince in supporting the cooperation march of the GCC to achieve the desired integration among their countries in all fields.
