Akhir 26, 1432, March 31, 2011, SPA-- Poland's last communist leader, Gen. Wojciech Jaruzelski, has been admitted to a hospital for tests ahead of planned chemotherapy, AP reported. Jaruzelski was recently diagnosed with lymphoma, a cancer of the lymphatic cells, and is to undergo chemotherapy at a military clinic in Warsaw. Hospital spokesman Col. Piotr Dabrowiecki said Thursday that the 87-year-old general was in stable condition and was being examined before a decision is made on when the chemotherapy can be carried out. It is the third time that Jaruzelski has been in a hospital since late December. In 1981 Jaruzelski imposed martial law with the aim of crushing the Solidarity freedom movement _ which eventually overthrew communist rule in 1989. Jaruzelski argues he prevented a Soviet invasion. -- SPA
