Akhir 19, 1432 H/March 24, 2011, SPA -- Three workers were exposed to radiation at Japan's stricken nuclear power plant Thursday, and two of them had been taken to hospital, the government's nuclear safety commission said. According to dpa, the three were exposed to radiation amounting to 170 to 180 millisieverts during their work on cable systems at the reactor 3 building at Fukushima 1 nuclear power plant, whose power was knocked out by a 9.0-magnitude earthquake and resulting tsunami on March 11, the commission said. The two hospitalized workers had sustained injuries to their legs from the radiation, news reports said. The operator of the plant, Tokyo Electric Power Co, resumed work earlier in the day to restore power and key cooling functions after it was disrupted by dark smoke from the reactor building on Wednesday.
