Akhir 18, 1432 H/March 23, 2011, SPA -- An official at the Eiffel Tower in the French capital said that the world famous monument has been evacuated after a suspicious package was found, according to AP. The official said Wednesday the package was found on the plaza beneath the tower. A Paris police official said nearly 4,000 tourists were evacuated from the site after an anonymous caller warned that the Paris monument would be blown up at 1700 GMT. Both officials spoke on condition of anonymity, saying the situation is still being investigated.
