Yaum, Al-Madinah, and Al-Jazirah newspapers said that the force has been sent to Bahrain in response to the request of the Government of Bahrain in maintaining security in the face of a sectarian strife, noting that sending the Force to Bahrain came in implementation of the treaties and conventions between the countries of The Cooperation Council for The Arab States of The Gulf (GCC). The papers stressed that the deployment of the Shield Force to Bahrain is necessary to maintain its security as well as the security of the GCC countries, noting the GCC system is very important in maintaining the security of the GCC countries and their achievements so that the GCC societies are threatened by the situations of chaos and lawlessness. The papers said that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have activated the GCC agreements by their military support to Bahrain, indicating that the Arab Peninsula Shield Force was formed 27 years ago for playing such roles as in Bahrain.
