Akhir 09, 1432 / March 14, 2011, SPA -- A car-bomb attack Monday on an army headquarters in the northern Iraqi province of Diyala killed 10 people, mostly Iraqi soldiers, and injured at least 25, as dpa reported. According to police, the car-bomb exploded in front of the army headquarters in the town of Kanaan, not far from the city of Baquba, some 60 kilometres north-east of the capital Baghdad. In a separate attack, a policeman was killed by gunmen just west of the northern city of Mosul, according to Aswat al-Iraq News Agency. The policeman was killed by gunmen near his house in Talafar, west of Mosul, a security source told Aswat Al-Iraq. Also in the north, in the city of Duluiyah, at least one Iraqi police officer was wounded when an improvised explosive device went off near a checkpoint.
