Akhir 05 , 1432 H. / March 10, 2011 -- Zimbabwe's energy minister, Elton Mangoma, was Friday indicted on charges of criminal abuse of office, dpa reported. The charges against Mangoma relate to his allegedly ordering 6 million dollars of fuel from a South African company that was not on the government's fuel procurement list. Mangoma has denied the charges. Mangoma is a top official in Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai's Movement for Democratic Change (MDC), which is in a coalition government with President Robert Mugabe's Zanu-PF party. On Thursday, Mangoma was picked up by plainclothes police at his office in central Harare, leading MDC member of parliament Innocent Gonese said. Tsvangirai said Thursday the country was in crisis after Mangoma's arrest and the supreme court's removal of MDC speaker of parliament from office. -- SPA
