Akhir 06 , 1432 H. / March 11, 2011 -- The top U.N. envoy in Ivory Coast is warning that a growing number of attacks against U.N. personnel constitute war crimes, according to AP. Choi Young-jin told reporters Friday that U.N. peacekeepers have been shot at and staff members have been kidnapped and hijacked in the volatile West African nation. Choi blamed supporters of Laurent Gbagbo, the president for a decade who is clinging to power months after the U.N. said his rival won the election. He warned that the U.N. is documenting the attacks and warns that a judge will hold perpetrators accountable. More than 400 people have been killed in violence since the disputed vote, most of them supporters of internationally recognized winner Alassane Ouattara.
