Akhir 05 , 1432 H. / March 10, 2011 -- The world's leading luxury carmaker BMW AG reported Thursday record profits last year as the global boom in premium autos helped to power a 19.3-per-cent jump in the group's revenues, according to dpa. Munich-based BMW said net profit in 2010 climbed to 3.23 billion euros (4.47 billion dollars) in a dramatic recovery after earnings had sunk to 210 million euros in 2009 in the wake of the world recession, which plunged the car business plunged into a crisis. The previous profit record at BMW was 3.1 billion euros in 2007. "We can be very pleased with the development in business last year," said BMW chief Norbert Reithofer. Revenue rose to 60.4 billion euros in 2010. The carmaker is due to set out full details of its result next Tuesday.
