Akhir 05 , 1432 H. / March 10, 2011 -- The Philippines' internal revenue bureau has filed separate tax evasion complaints against two retired generals, their wives and a brother-in-law who have all been linked to a multimillion dollar military corruption scandal, according to AP. Officials said complaints were filed Thursday against retired Maj. Gen. Carlos Garcia, retired Lt. Gen. Jacinto Ligot, their spouses and Ligot's brother-in-law for failure to file their income tax returns. Their alleged tax liabilities total 949.7 million pesos ($21.9 million). Garcia and Ligot have been under Senate investigation for allegedly pocketing millions of dollars worth of military funds during their stints as comptroller of the armed forces.
