Akhir 02, 1432, March 02, 2011, SPA -- U.S. Secretary of Defense Robert Gates made an unannounced visit to Afghanistan Monday to meet with his troops and Afghan President Hamid Karzai, officials said. Gates arrived in Kabul and was scheduled to meet with Karzai Monday evening, presidential spokesman Siamak Herawi said. Gates will also meet with General David Petraeus, chief of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) and the US troops in Afghanistan, an ISAF official was quoted as saying by the German Press Agency "DPA".
