Awwal 30, 1432, March 05, 2011, SPA -- Six Taliban militants were killed and a number of others wounded in a raid by Pakistani forces this morning in the Khurram tribal district, bordering Afghanistan. Military sources explained that the armed forces used heavy weapons in the security operation by bombarding insurgent positions in the center of the district, causing damage to two of their strongholds along with the dead and wounded. On the other hand, police said they have been able to arrest the field commander for the Taliban militants during another security operation carried out in the city of Hangu near the north-western tribal belt.
