Awwal 26, 1432 H/March 1, 2011, SPA -- Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General, who is also leader of the Saudi side to the Saudi Qatari Coordination Council (SQCC), and Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad bin Jassim Al Thani, Crown Prince of the State of Qatar, who also serves as leader of his country's side to the SQCC, co-chaired the 3rd round of the SQCC held at Crown Prince Sultan's palace in Riyadh this evening. Addressing the meeting, Crown Prince Sultan welcomed the Qatari delegation, extending to them the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and wishing them every success. He lauded the achievements of the Council over the past period since its establishment. The challenges facing our region entitle us to strictly follow the approach of political consultation, security enhancement and joint action in all fields, he said. He praised as satisfactory the level of bilateral relations between the two countries, wishing them to go far in the benefit of the two peoples and countries under the prudent leaderships of the two countries. Given the chance, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad bin Jassim Al Thani conveyed the greetings of Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Emir of Qatar, to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and his Crown Prince, wishing them continuous health and happiness and the Saudi people steady progress and prosperity. He thanked the Saudi side for warm welcome and generous hospitality accorded to him and his delegation. He expressed satisfaction over the achievements of the young Council in the field of cooperation and enhancement of consultation under the prudent instructions of the leaderships of the two countries. Then four agreements and memoranda of understanding between the two countries were signed. They covered security cooperation, anti-drug combat and protection and maintenance of meteorology. --More
