Awwal 19, 1432 H/Feb 22, 2011, SPA --Cameroon's minister of communication told protesters calling for demonstrations on Wednesday to call off their plans. "Those who are calling on our compatriots, especially those who are trying to prey on the very dynamic and youthful population, to go into the streets and demonstrate, are actually taking Cameroon 20 years backward," dpa quoted Issa Tchiroma Bakary as telling journalists Tuesday. Bakary accused Cameroonians living in the United States and Europe of trying to stir up trouble through calls for Egypt-style protests on Twitter and other websites. Protests so far have been small scale and quickly dispersed.
