Awwal 16, 1432 H/Feb 19, 2011, SPA -- Ireland's centre-right Fine Gael party has extended its lead ahead of a general election next Friday, but remains short of an overall majority, a new opinion poll showed. The Sunday Business Post/Red C poll said that Fine Gael was up one point to 39 percent, while its nearest challenger, the centre-left Labour party, was down three points at 17 percent, according to Reuters. If Fine Gael falls short of an overall majority, it is widely expected to form a coalition government with Labour.
