Awwal 14, 1432 H/Feb 17, 2011, SPA -- NATO says alliance and Afghan forces have captured leaders of an insurgent group in eastern Afghanistan. Among them is one militant thought to have been involved in last month's suicide attack on a Kabul supermarket, as AP reported. The detainees are members of Hizb-i-Islami, an insurgent group made up of loyalists of regional warlord Gulbuddin Hekmatyar. The coalition says the group's Kabul-based media chief was arrested Wednesday in Parwan province. It says he has ties to multiple insurgent groups and was involved in suicide bombings in November and January. The most recent blast killed eight people in a Western-style supermarket near embassies in the Afghan capital. NATO says another leader of the group was captured nearby, and a third in Khost province.
