Awwal 14, 1432 H/Feb 17, 2011, SPA -- A train accident near the Argentine capital Buenos Aires Wednesday claimed the lives of at least three passengers, fire and rescue officials said. More than 70 passengers were injured, some of them seriously, as a freight train rammed into a stopped passenger train. According to dpa, the locomotive slammed into the last car of the passenger train, forcing several wagons on top of each other. The accident occurred in the town of San Miguel about 30 kilometres outside of Buenos Aires. A spokesman for the private company that operates the commuter train said the accident was caused either by a mistaken signal or human error.
