Awwal 13, 1432 H/Feb 16, 2011, SPA -- Belgian King Albert II gave the negotiator tasked with brokering a coalition deal an extra fortnight to find a solution to the record-breaking political stalemate. Parliamentary elections were held on June 13, but a struggle between French- and Dutch-speaking parties over money, regional powers and influence in Brussels has so far stymied every attempt to form a working coalition government. The king met his chief coalition negotiator, acting finance minister Didier Reynders, and "prolonged his mission ... to allow him to complete and refine his report," dpa quoted a palace statement as saying. Reynders will make a final report on March 1, the statement said.
