Awwal 12, 1432 H/Feb 15, 2011, SPA -- Google is to establish a research institute in Germany to study the future of the internet, the US search company's chief executive, Eric Schmidt, told the German daily newspaper Die Welt for its Wednesday edition. The institute will study "internet-based innovations, the political framework and the related legal issues," dpa quoted the paper as saying. Schmidt is set to hand over his position in April to a co-founder of the company, Larry Page.
