Awwal 11, 1432 H/Feb 14, 2011, SPA -- Taiwan and China will hold talks next week on economic issues, including exchanging trade offices, the Central News Agency (CNA) said on Monday. China's advance team arrived in Taipei on Monday to prepare for the talks, to be held in Taipei on February 22, dpa cited CNA as saying. The meeting will be the first under the framework of the Economic Cooperation Council launched on January 6 to supervise implementation of the Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement signed in June 2010. Since Taiwan President Ma Ying-jeou came to power in 2008, he has taken a series of measures to promote trade and ease tension across the Taiwan Strait, including opening up air, sea and tourism links.
