Awwal 05, 1432 H/Feb 08, 2011, SPA -- After final agreement on the financing by partner countries, the delivery of the first Airbus A400M military transporter will be made in December 2012, dpa quoted officials as announcing Tuesday. Spanish Defence Minister Carme Chacon said the first plane will be delivered to the French military on December 11, 2012. She made the comment while visiting an Airbus plant in Sevilla in southern Spain. EADS, the parent of Airbus, had reached agreement last November with Germany and six other purchasing countries to finance the project. But the final contract has not yet been signed. Chacon said she was confident the parties would be signing the deal soon. Foreseen are deliveries of at least 170 planes to Germany, France, Spain, Belgium, Luxembourg, Britain and Turkey. Nearly a third of the planes - 53 - are to be purchased by Germany.
