Awwal 03, 1432 H/Feb 06, 2011, SPA -- Former President Alejandro Toledo is the clear front-runner in Peru's presidential race, according to a poll released on Sunday by a survey institute at Lima's Catholic University. Other survey firms also show Toledo ahead of former Lima Mayor Luis Castaneda and lawmaker Keiko Fujimori, the daughter of Alberto Fujimori, a former president, Reuters reported. Trailing in fourth place for the April vote is left-wing ultranationalist Ollanta Humala. Farther back is former Prime Minister Pedro Pablo Kuczynski, a banker who served in Toledo's market-friendly government that lasted from 2001 to 2006. The three leading candidates all support economic policies that have been in place in Peru for nearly 20 years and say more must be done to fight poverty, which is a relatively high 35 percent.
