Awwal 02, 1432 H/Feb 05, 2011, SPA -- Gamal Mubarak, the son of the Egyptian President Hosny, has resigned from his post as a political head of the ruling National Democratic Party (NDP), dpa cited state media as reporting Saturday. Safwat el-Sherif, the secretary general of the party, also resigned. Both were to be replaced by Hossam Badrawi - a member of the Upper Chamber of Egyptian Parliament, known as the Shura Council. Badrawi represents the liberal wing of the NDP.
