Eleven construction workers were killed Thursday when the platform they were standing on collapsed on a building site in the Philippine capital, police said. According to dpa, several more workers were injured in the accident that occurred in the financial district of Makati City, said Senior Superintendent Froilan Bonifacio, the city police chief. Bonifacio said the workers were installing glass windows on the 32nd floor of the building under construction when the scaffolding gave way. The victims plunged to a cemented area on the 7th floor. Investigators were still determining the cause of the accident.
