Afghan President Hamid Karzai inaugurated parliament on Wednesday. The opening ceremony took place in the parliament building, four months after the country had conducted a second parliamentary elections in post-Taliban rule. Karzai congratulated the House of Representatives after the oath in the presence of government ministers, diplomats and NATO commander U.S. General David Petraeus. The Afghan President, announced last week it would postpone the opening of parliament a month to give time to a special tribunal to investigate allegations of fraud in the elections of September parliamentary elections.
