The Joint Saudi-Turkish Committee concluded its meetings here today under the chairmanship of Minister of Transport Dr. Jubarah Eid Al-Suraysiri and Turkish Minister of Finance Mehmet Simsek. Addressing the closing meeting, the Minister of Transport said that the Committee has made numerous achievements since its previous session in Turkey in 2008, including the implementation of the Agreement on Avoidance of Double Taxation and Agreement on Promotion of Investment, in addition to the signing of an agreement for cooperation in the field of maritime transport, a Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation in the field of higher education, and five contracts in the field of higher education. Dr. Al-Suraysiri disclosed that the volume of trade exchange between the two countries exceeded SR 12 billion in 2009 in comparison to SR 5.8 billion in 2003. He called on business sectors to take advantage of many opportunities for the investment in the two countries. --MORE
