Deputy Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud chaired the Cabinet session held at Al-Yamamah Palace here today. At the outset of the session, the Deputy Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques congratulated the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and the people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on his safe arrival in the Kingdom of Morocco to complete his physiotherapy and recuperation. The Deputy Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques also expressed the appreciation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to King Mohammed VI and the people of Morocco for the warm welcome they have accorded the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. The Deputy Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques briefed the Cabinet on the contacts and consultations that took place during the last week, including telephone calls the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques received from Leader Muammar Al-Gaddafi of Libya, President Ali Abdullah Saleh of Yemen, Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah of Kuwait and Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi of Italy, in addition to the receptions the Deputy Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques held for the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee of Pakistan Armed Forces, and the British Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA) following the session, the Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohieddin Khoja said the Cabinet listened to reports on latest regional and international developments, lauding in this regard the decisions taken by the Second Economic, Developmental and Social Summit held in Egypt. The Cabinet expressed pleasure for hosting the leaders of Arab countries in the 3rd Economic, Developmental and Social Summit to be held in Riyadh in January 2013. The Cabinet renewed the call of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the international community, the United Nations and especially the Quartet Committee, to follow a comprehensive strategic approach towards an immediate halt of all settlement projects in the Palestinian occupied territories, which have become the greatest obstacles placed by Israel against the efforts to move, push and continue the peace negotiations. Such practices would stop all peace initiatives and surround most cities in the West Bank and make it virtually impossible for a viable and inseparable state of Palestine, the Cabinet warned. --More
