Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohieddin Khoja, Minister of Culture and Information of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, opened here today the Saudi Cultural Days, organized by the Ministry of Culture and Information, and last until January 23. At the venue, he was received by the Minister of Culture, Broadcasting and Television Golmerat Miradov and senior officials as well as Saudi Ambassador to Turkmenistan Turki bin Khalid bin Hashr. Touring the activities, they have been briefed on their contents. In a speech, Miradov welcomed Dr. Khoja and the Saudi cultural guests, wishing the Saudi Cultural Days every success. For his part, Dr. Khoja conveyed the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Deputy Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz and Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz, the Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior, to the Turkmenistan's leadership and people. Dr. Khoja said his ministry's practice of holding cultural activities abroad was based on the importance attached by the Saudi government to promoting cultural cooperation with sisterly and friendly countries based on the belief that cultural cooperation constitutes a pivotal bridge in support of political, economic and scientific relations. He lauded the in-depth relations binding the Kingdom and Turkmenistan since the state visit of Turkmenistan's President to the Kingdom in 2007. Dr. Khoja recalled that the Kingdom has hosted Turkmenistan's Cultural Days in implementation of the Cultural agreement signed between the two countries. He drew the attention to the fact that the Saudi Cultural Days in Ishqabad coincides with the convoking of the first round of the Saudi Turkmenistan Joint Committee in Riyadh. He paid tribute to the cultural, literary and scientific historical contributions of Turkmenistan to the human culture and literature.
