Addressing the conference, Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim, Speaker of the Shura Council of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, confirmed the keenness of the Kingdom's government and people and their care for the issue of Al-Quds, condemning the systematic Israeli procedures to judaize the holy Islamic city. Emanating from its religious and political responsibility, the Kingdom has advocated the cause of this holy city at Arab, Islamic and international platforms, he said, referring to a number of statements issued by the Saudi government and Shura Council on the issue. He called for confronting with all possible and legitimate political, legal, and religious means the Israeli plan aiming at changing the religious and cultural nature of the city, warning from the hazardous implications of the Israeli plan, first of all is restructuring the character of the city according to the Zionist ideology and embodying the principle of demographic purity for the Zionist entity. He expressed the Kingdom's concern over Israeli's rejection to join the treaty on non-proliferation of nuclear weapons, leaving its nuclear program unchecked by international inspection and control teams, thus exposing the entire region's security and stability to devastating dangers. --More
