Speaker of Saudi Majlis Al-Shoura Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Al-Sheikh thanked today the heads of the councils and parliaments participating in works of the 2nd Extraordinary Conference of the Parliamentary Federation of Member States of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC), which began its deliberations this morning in Abu Dhabi, for their sincere feelings toward the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah Ibn Abdul Aziz Al Saud. He expressed happiness over their keen interest in the health of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and said this represented their honor and respect for King Abdullah Ibn Abdulaziz, who enjoys great Arab and Islamic weightage in view of his wise leadership of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which is recognized internationally at various levels and forums. In a press statement, following the opening session of the Conference, the Speaker reiterated the Saudi Majlis Al-Shura is keen through its participation in the conference to achieve the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Deputy Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Second Deputy about the importance of removing all obstacles to the promotion of joint Islamic action in various forums including private ones, through the Parliamentary Federation which is an important gateway for Islamic peoples to strengthen their respective positions on various issues they face. "The conference comes in the context of the importance to keep up with current circumstances in the countries of the Islamic world, and to withstand all the challenges facing the Islamic nation." He also expressed appreciation for the Federation's special committees and affirmed that the conference would come out with a clear vision of what is required of the parliamentary works of the Islamic world in the next stage.
