Chancellor of the University of Sorbonne Jeanne Claude Kolair has hailed the interest and far-sight of Saudi decision-makers in developing higher education in the Kingdom. This came during a gathering which included Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh Region, in Riyadh yesterday with Kolair, who was accompanied by a powerful academic delegation, in the presence of Dr. Ali Al-Atiyyah, Deputy Minister of Education, Dr. Awad Al-Awad, Advisor to the Governor of Riyadh Region, and France's Ambassador to the Kingdom Bertrand Bezansenio. During a seminar held by Al-Eqtisadiyyah (economic) Journalistic Club, Kolair paid tribute to Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz and other Saudi leadership for their care of promoting higher education. He said he discussed with Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz ways of enhancing relations between Saudi and French universities at all levels. He added that the delegation was impressed to see the signs of a great scientific renaissance in the offing, citing the giant universities and university cities. He stressed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has already made great strides in the field of higher education in general and the scientific field in particular. He expressed his university's preparedness to enter into partnership with Saudi universities in the fields of developing higher education and scientific research movements in the Kingdom.
