The Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Ali bin Ibrahim Al-Naimi met here today with Japanese Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Akihro Ohata and his accompanying delegation. The meeting dealt with the situations of global energy markets; the Kingdom's endeavours for their stability; the meeting of the General Secretariat of the International Energy Forum to be held in Riyadh to ratify the Charter of the Secretariat and its new system; the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the beginning of the dialogue between oil producing and consuming countries in Riyadh in February, 2011; promotion of joint investments between the two countries; calling on Japanese companies for industrial investment in the Kingdom; and the importance of continuing exchange of visits between Saudi and Japanese officials for the enhancement of petroleum cooperation between the two countries. They also reviewed ways of cooperation in the field of petroleum and energy, particularly in the petroleum sector, including cooperation between oil companies in the two countries. The meeting was attended by Prince Abdulaziz Ibn Salman Ibn Abdulaziz, Assistant Minister for Petroleum Affairs; Prince Faisal Ibn Turki Ibn Abdulaziz, Advisor at the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, and a number of the Ministry's senior officials.
