Police say they have detained 15 Afghan migrants, including 8 minors, and a Moroccan woman just before their scheduled departure for Genoa, Italy, on two small chartered planes, according to AP. Police say the arrests in this northeastern Greek city occurred Friday evening. Kavala police say the 19-year-old Moroccan woman is an employee of a Milan travel agency that had chartered the two planes for ¤36,000 ($46,500) on behalf of a Britain-based client. Police said Saturday the 15 Afghans were carrying fake Danish identity documents purchased in Athens for ¤1,000 ($1,300) each. Four taxi drivers who drove the Afghans from Athens, 680 kilometers (420 miles) away, have also been detained. Greece is the European Union's busiest transit point for immigrant traffickers.
