Qatar lost the opening game of Asia soccer championship finals 0-2 against Uzbekistan at Khalifa International Stadium in the Qatari capital of Doha this evening. The first half ended zero love despite missing chances for the two teams. Striker Adel Ahmadov scored for Uzbekistan in the 59th minute from a shot outside the area. An ill-managed ball by the Qatari defense inside the area was well tapped by Uzbek striker S. Jabarov who netted his teams' second and final goal in the 71st minute, complicating the host country's hopes to please its enthusiastic fans. With this result, Uzbekistan leads Group A with three points awaiting tomorrow's meeting between Kuwait and China.
