The Saudi cost of living index rose to 132 points in last December compared to 131.9 points in November 2010, reflecting a rise of 0.1 per cent. The rise was due to increases in three main groups constituting the index of cost of living, namely maintenance, hire, fuel and water group which rose by 0.4 points, foods and beverages group which rose by 0.1 point, and transport and communications group which rose by 0.1 point. Cost of living index rose in December 2010, too, in a year to year basis, by 5.4 per cent compared to December 2009. -- SPA
