An 18-member Medical Team, comprising doctors and para-medical staff is currently visiting Yemen to conduct open-heart surgeries and catheterizations and undertake diagnostic and therapeutic treatments of Adults and children at the Cardiac Center of "Al-Thawrah" General Hospital in the Yemeni capital. The Director General of the Hospital Dr. Ahmed Qasim al-Ansi said in a statement published today that the Saudi medical team is headed by Dr. Amar Bukhari, a Cardiac Surgeon. Dr Al-Ansi said the visit of the Saudi medical team is within the framework of the close ties between the two countries and peoples. He also praised the level of Saudi-Yemeni cooperation in various areas, especially in the health field. On his part, Dr Amar Bukhari said the Saudi medical team conducts on a daily basis three to four open-heart operations During its week-long visit, he said the team will conduct more than 50 different surgeries in areas of open-heart operations and cardiac catheterizations.
