Romanian television star Serban Huidu has woken from an artificial coma after a skiing accident in the Tyrolean mountains, the hospital treating him said Sunday, according to dpa. The 34-year-old "is able to speak and took food this morning," said a statement issued by the Innsbruck Clinic. Doctors said the star's condition had improved considerably, but warned that he was still weak and remained in intensive care. Huidu jammed the edge of a ski, fell, and plunged 10 metres into a forest whilst skiing on Wednesday, according to a police report. The 34-year-old sustained severe head injuries and was flown from the Patscherkofel resort to the clinic in Innsbruck. Doctors put him into an induced coma. Huidu hosts an entertainment show of the private channel Prima TV and has a daily morning radio show.
