In response to the call of Prince Salman Ibn Abdulaziz, the Governor of Riyadh Province, who is also General Supervisor of King Fahd National Library, for supporting the Library with rare and heritage books and manuscripts kept by families and individuals, as many as 7118 books in Arabic and other languages have been gifted to the Library. Librarian Ali bin Salman Al-Sowainie has pointed out that the gifted books are considered as important addition to the contents of the Library as they deal with topics such as religion, economy, politics, international relations, literature, biographies, and history of the Arabian Peninsula.
