Passengers were Friday evacuated from a terminal at Paris' Charles de Gaulle airport over fears the roof might collapse under the weight of snow, dpa reported. The roof of the same terminal collapsed in 2004, shortly after its opening, killing four people. Firemen were trying to clear the snow from the roof by the afternoon. Around 2,000 passengers had already spent the night into Friday marooned at Europe's third largest airport. Some were given field beds and blankets though many had to sleep on the floor. On Friday 400 of the 1,160 planned flights were cancelled after a strike by workers at Glykol, which makes de-icing fluid, caused a shortage. Urgently needed supplies were to be imported from Germany and the United States, the television station BFM reported. "There's no chaos on the trains, there's no chaos on the streets but there's a real problem with de-icing fluid which is in short supply at airports at the moment," Secretary of State for Transport Thierry Mariani told the radio station France Inter.
