French President Nicolas Sarkozy said that Russia has agreed to buy at least two French warships in a deal that has worried Russia's neighbors. Sarkozy's office added in a statement that Russian President Dmitry Medvedev informed Sarkozy on Friday of Russian approval to buy two Mistral-class warships, according to AP. The Mistral, which could carry up to 16 helicopters and dozens of armored vehicles, would allow Russia to land hundreds of troops quickly on foreign soil.
