A joint team of India and Bangladesh will begin a survey later this month for the feasibility of building a bridge over the river Feni in South Tripura district to connect India's Northeast to Chittagong port in Bangladesh, official sources said on Wednesday. This decision was arrived following a meeting between Tripura's Industries and Commerce Minister Jitendra Chowdhury and Bangladesh Foreign Minister Dipu Moni and Commerce Minister Col (retd) Faruk Khan on Tuesday in Dhaka, the Press Trust of India (PTI) quoted the official sources as saying. The joint team would visit Sabroom in South Tripura district and Ramgarh in Bangladesh later this month and finalize the design and construction of the bridge, the sources said.
