The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu received in his Office in Jeddah the Director General of the Islamic Broadcasting Union (IBU) Zainal Abidin Ibrahim, who took office in February and discussed with him the latest developments related to the functioning of the Union to serve Islamic issues. The Secretary General emphasized the need for modernization, development and performance of the Islamic Broadcasting Union, being one of the OIC specialized bodies, as soon as possible on reflected basis so that it fills with success the functions for which it had been created. For his part, Ibrahim confirmed to the Secretary General his keen concern to achieve the objectives for which the Union was created. The Secretary General also discussed with Ibrahim all the necessary arrangements for the holding of the General Assembly of the Islamic Broadcasting Union tomorrow Wednesday 22 of December 2010 at the headquarters of the General Secretariat in Jeddah.
